Hello everyone! I'm Kate Eldredge, and I'm currently a freshman at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. This year my dog obsession is somewhat handicapped by living in the dorms, but I put down a deposit on a dog-friendly apartment for next year which will fix that :)

My mom was involved with dogs, and when I was 7 I got a puppy of my very own, a Pem Corgi named Flash. The rest, as they say, is history. I now have three dogs with whom I compete in a wide variety of dog sports. Though I love Corgis dearly and will probably always have one, I found my true love in the Belgian Tervuren. My bitch Queezle had her first litter last February, and we are currently stud-hunting for her second litter, from which I hope to keep a bitch puppy. The Q has had her hips, elbows, eyes, thyroid and heart evaluated by the OFA, and is  sound in both mind and body. As well as earning titles in tracking, agility, conformation, rally and obedience, she was ranked within the Top 25 Belgian Tervuren for 2 years in a row and won a Best In Specialty Show. Out of her first litter, one puppy has already finished her Championship and another is well on her way, and they are all starting training in various performance events.

My biggest dog brag though goes to Flash, who earned her Champion Tracker this past July after working for over an hour in bright sun and 80 degree heat over parking lots, grass, roads and mulch. Only about 210 dogs have ever earned their CT. Flash was the 10th Pem to do so and I am the youngest handler.

Right now we are just enjoying the snow and trying to stay warm until Tia and I go to the obedience trial this weekend!

That's pretty impressive about the CT - way to go, Kate and Flash! How do you like Cornell? Are you going to be able to bring all three (soon four, I guess!) of the dogs to your apartment?

I absolutely love it. Unfortunately I probably won't be able to because the Q has to be kept separate from the other girls. In the spring when I don't have band I might try. I would really like to be able to bring Flash, but it doesn't make sense to take her and leave Queezle at home where she is off in a room by herself part of the day. She's such a brat - she gets along with every dog in the world except our three girls. The prospective munchkin would be coming with me too though :)
