Well, Hello again every body. I must admit I find this revised edition of Dogged Juniors rather confusing I have 2 dogs. Malakey, a malamute or husky mix about 10 yrs old. Czech, a Australian cattle dog about 4 yrs old. I am not active in any dog sports, (do 2 parents) just extemely interested. I like mushing and herding. (go figure) Czech can herd. He only has 2 commands on him really, "Get em" Which means move the cow/s in that direction. A hiss that means stop/don't do that. *shrugs* Works 4 me. Not that I don't want 2 teach him some more technical commands, but thats all the further I have got! My other interests include: My Faith. The animal kingdom in general, especially horses and cats . . . cows, chickens, farm animals.

Well, stop is the most important command in herding. And the reason Flash never did get her duck title

Well, Czech is doing better than Smush ever did... granted, he only saw sheep a few times in his life, but he never got further than "Oh boy! Sheep! I wanna chase 'em!!! Wheee, this is fun! .... Whew, I'm tired... I think I'm gonna go eat sheep poop now." Lol. That's my boy And, for what it's worth, my old husky was able to pull me on a sled, with the help of Smush, until she was 12 years old (and I suspect that if she hadn't gotten cancer, she might have been able to keep going until she was 13 or more). We just took it slow and didn't go very far (and of course I helped them out a lot). Sure, she wasn't a marathon runner, but I was still surprised at what she could do at that age.
