As we count down to her ultrasound, Queezle has been consistently sticking her nose up at breakfast and occasionally throwing up water. No biggie, classic morning sickness - as long as she throws up on the linoleum it's easy to clean.

Monday night I noticed Flash's belly was distended and very firm. Not bloat, but still weird. Yesterday she was pooping waaaay more than normal, stomach still distended though not as firm. She kind of hesitated when I gave her supper, but then ate so I thought nothing of it.

Later that night Mom discovered a Corgi-nose-sized hole in the 40 lb dog food bag temporarily sitting by our washing machine. Flash had been hanging out there a lot in the past couple days, passing up her usual hiding spot in the bathroom - she obviously ripped the little hole and then was working away at the bag, guarding it from the other dogs! Apart from badness, all was still well and good and we moved the bag to a safer location.

Then this morning she threw up dog food all over, complete with some blood. The dog food made sense, but the blood had us worried. Into the vet clinic she went, where she spent the day getting a work-up complete with xrays and bloodwork. Final verdict is that she is fine, just stuffed.

Once home with Flash, Tia decided to throw up just for kicks.

I'm considering switching to a hobby that doesn't involve cleaning up puke.

Poor Queezle. I know exactly how she feels.

Looks like they've been keeping you on your toes lately. I clean up a lot of throw up at the dog boarding facility I work at - it's pretty gross. Anytime we get a new dog in, he or she throws up water shortly after coming in.

How far along is Queezle now? I want puppy pictures! I'm having puppy fever. Hehe.

She actually just had her ultrasound about a week ago! Only 2 puppies showed up, but hopefully there are a couple more hiding in there. Now we're waiting for the xray on July 6, and then they'll be due around the 11th.

Funny I should read this now, since I just downloaded a job application for a dog day care & boarding facility... Sounds like fun   Oh well, I'm still applying anyway.

Fingers crossed for more puppies... although if there were only 2, would you and your mom maybe end up just keeping both of them?  At least then you wouldn't have to share their cuteness with anybody else ;)

Annie - Go for it! Except for cleaning up throw up occasionally, it's a blast working at a dog boarding facility. The one I work at also allows you to bring your dogs to work with you. :)

Kate - Awe. Hopefully there's more! If there is only two puppies, will you be keeping them?

Depends how they turn out and what we get lol. Ideally I want a show quality bitch to continue our line, and my mom wants a show quality boy. We should get pups with very nice structure and good temperaments, the questions are color and, how shall I say, "family jewels." Grey puppies aren't the end of the world, though red is preferred. If there's a gorgeous grey bitch I might keep her anyway lol.

I would really like to work at some place like that. Even with the puke lol. It's dogs, and dogs are my life.

There are no puppies :( The xray was depressingly devoid of little skeletons. So for whatever reason she resorbed them between the ultrasound and the xray. Then I found out Poncho, the stud, is no longer fertile (they had gone to collect him to freeze semen), so I can't even breed back to him. It was a really bad day. Luckily the whelping box didn't arrive until the next day or I might have flipped out on the poor delivery guy.

The Q herself is fine though, which in the end is the most important thing. We'll try again on her next heat, though I'm having a terrible time figuring out what to do. In the meantime, we entered a boatload of shows since she still has coat.
