This heat is killing me. I don't remember it being this hot so soon last year, and Summer hasn't even officially began yet. We hit a whopping 98 degrees yesterday, and believe me, it's no fun walking dogs in that heat. :( I'm dreading the next few months.

I seriously need to move to Alaska.

I second that! And our sunshine came late this year!

Heat just isn't for me, I'm a cold weather girl.

Well that sounds extremely unpleasant :(  I personally can't stand extreme heat or cold... luckily I get to experience both here in lovely Wisconsin :D   Around here it's been mostly upper 80s and humid for the past month or so... and the only time it cools down is during the occasional thunderstorm.  It's not unbearable for me, but I haven't really been able to do much with the dogs outside.  I keep telling  myself to suck it up and appreciate summer while it lasts, but I feel bad for the puppers... as luck would have it, they're all black and fluffy  :/  At least I can be thankful that my neighborhood didn't get hit too bad by the most recent bout of storms a couple weeks ago - a bunch of other people in our area ended up with flooded basements :(

I love summer, and heat doesn't bug me. The humidity is AWFUL though. I want to move to like Arizona where it's nice and dry. Today I spent the entire day drenched in sweat even when I wasn't doing anything.

Tell me about it... yesterday my flyball teammates and I spent the day at the State Fair for the "Dog Fair" (sort of a 1-day long 'mini-fair' within the Fair for dogs), and  it was ridiculously hot/humid all day long.  The whole event took place inside the Coliseum, which is a big, crowded building that has no air conditioning, and is mostly closed-in, so there was no breeze.  We were hot enough just sitting around, and when we had to go do our flyball demo, I felt like I was going to pass out.  I can't imagine how hot the poor dogs must have been - although Smush hardly drank any water afterwards, so I guess he must have been okay.  It probably helped that all of our fans were aimed at the dog crates- I admit I was slightly jealous of them :P  I also didn't remember to bring along "people water" (just dog water), so was also probably dehydrated by the end of the day because I didn't feel like handing over another three bucks for one more drink... hehe.  Probably not too smart, but what can I say, I'm cheap.

And in case you're wondering why I don't have any pictures of our booth, even though I did a bunch of artwork for it, and we decorated it with checkered racing flags so it looked really cool... well, the answer to that is: the decorations were held together with tape, and it looked really neat in the morning... but by the time I remembered to bring out the camera, the humidity had weakened the adhesive and the booth was basically melting apart .  So... yeah... gotta love Wisconsin in August.

Sounds just like the dog 4H stuff at our State Fair. Do you have an obnoxious announcement lady who no can understand and then yells at you for coming down at the wrong time? ;)

Well luckily the guy who does most of the announcements is pretty good; he's the husband of the lady who owns the local training facility where we do flyball/agility/etc., and he teaches some classes there so he's good at talking to crowds.  (As a side note, you'll be happy to know that he owns and shows Tervs :) )  Some of the other announcers sounded pretty monotone and boring though.  Granted, I can't really point fingers since I'm not the most eloquent public speaker myself... but is a little enthusiasm too much to ask?

OMG, who is it? The Terv world is pretty small, and odds are I've at least heard of him.

Well I actually had to go and look this up since I couldn't remember their dogs' show names for the life of me... but anyway, their old Terv was CH Epris Acajou Et Chimay Go Navy.  He died recently - last summer I think.  Their new puppy is named Windypt Maverick of Waldenmark.   Of course, he's technically a bit too old to be called a puppy at this point (last time I saw him he was HUGE, lol) but of course I still think of him as their "new puppy."
