Dog'ged Juniors

Hello. My name is Jordan. I'm sixteen. A Quintuplet. A Sophomore in high school, though I should be a Junior - my parents held us back in Kindergarten because we were too small. And a huge animal lover! I also enjoy writing. It is as much of a passion of mine as dog training is! Dogs have been my life since I was a little girl. I am currently saving money to purchase, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever.

I acquired my first clicker in 2009 and have been using it ever since. I am learning the ropes and have made too many mistakes to count, but with the power of positive training, anything can be accomplished. I use Positive Reinforcement when working with my dogs. It's very fun for the owner/trainer and the dog! If the dog is dependent on treats for him to do a command, the dog is not trained.

We got our first dog when I turned twelve years old. Cali is a Beagle x Jack Russell mix. She was two years old when we got her from my sister's friend. Now I wish I knew about the Agility world back then, she'd make a great agility dog. She's seven now and slowing down. She's such an amazing dog.

Vassar is our second dog. He is a Beagle x Chihuahua mix who we got from a family friend when he was five months. He is four years old and a really sweet guy. I didn't train him when we got him, but he picked up sit really well. He has now perfected down and we are working on loose leash and wait. I feel so bad for not starting training earlier, but this boy is doing great.

 Our third family dog is Rucker. He is a one year old Miniature Dachshund and is featured in many of my YouTube videos. We got him at nine weeks in 2008 and no, I didn't start training then as I wish I had. I never thought about it.
